WATSON HAUNTS FORMER CLUB GLASGOW

Sunday June 15, 2008
BIRMINGHAM beat Glasgow 53-40 to secure their first Premier League away win of the season on Sunday.

Craig Watson, who spent last season in Glasgow colours, gave his best display in a Brummies racejacket with a 15+1 haul to spearhead the challenge from the Perry Barr side.

Skipper Jason Lyons, who started his British career with the Scottish side in 1991, was at his usual immaculate best and guest duo Rusty Harrison and Andrew Tully did a great job.

Lyons and Harrison gave Birmingham the lead in Heat 3 and Lyons was at it again, this time with Tully, two races later to extend the lead to eight-points.

Glasgow guest Carl Stonehewer was nominated for double-points off a 15-metre handicap in Heat 8 - but he failed to beat a Brummies rider and the lead was extended to 12.

And although Robert Ksiezak - who rode for Birmingham in their mid-week win over Workington - won his tactical ride in Heat 11 for a Gasgow 6-3, the BRC Roofing Brummies were in complete control.

GLASGOW: Robert Ksiezak 15+1, Carl Stonehewer 11, Josh Grajczonek 5+1, Trent Leverington 4, Mitchell Davey 3, Lee Dicken 1+1, Anders Andersen 1+1.
BIRMINGHAM: Craig Watson 15+1, Jason Lyons 14, Rusty Harrison 8+2, Andrew Tully 7+1, James Birkinshaw 5+4, Lee Smethills 4+1, Adam Roynon R/R.
