BIRMINGHAM can move to the top of the Travel Plus National League table with a win at Plymouth on Friday (7.15).

The Surestop Brummies are in determined mood after their 56-34 home win over King’s Lynn on Wednesday and have picked up at least one point from all four of their league fixtures so far.

With Liam Carr, who scored a full 15 point maximum on his debut, bolstering Birmingham’s heat-leader strength, Drury is hopeful his side can put in another encouraging performance to add to their league tally at the St. Boniface Arena.

Said Drury: “We know a win will move us back to the top of the standings and being in that position will be another confidence boost for the lads.

“We’ve got to take hope and confidence from the fact that the likes of Cradley and Eastbourne have already been there and picked up wins.

“We showed in the second half of Wednesday’s meeting against King’s Lynn what we’re capable of when we’ve got everything bang on in the pits and when we minimise the mistakes.

“There’s a good vibe around the camp right now and hopefully that can help guide us to another victory against Laurence Rogers and his Plymouth side.”

Plymouth include one of the third tier’s best performing No.1s in Steve Boxall as well as talented teen Henry Atkins at reserve.

PLYMOUTH: Steve Boxall, Richard Andrews, Lee Smart, Callum Walker, Benji Compton, Robert Parker, Henry Atkins

BIRMINGHAM: Tom Bacon, Kyle Roberts, Darryl Ritchings, Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, Liam Carr, Macauley Leek, Layne Cupitt.
