ELLIS FOURTH IN NLRC

Saturday September 26, 2015
ADAM Ellis suffered last heat heartbreak at the National League Riders' Championship on Saturday.

The Birmingham Surestop Brummies No.1 was still in contention for the title alongside the unbeaten and eventual Champion Ben Morley going into Heat 20. The two were involved in an enthralling battle before Ellis came to grief on the final lap whilst chasing the Kent rider.

Ellis finished on 11 points and finished in fourth place while Zach Wajtknecht scores seven points on his NLRC debut.

Brummies team manager Graham Drury says despite initial disappointment, both his riders can hold their heads high.

Said Drury: "Adam is naturally gutted - it was unfortunate he had the unfavourable gate one in that crucial final race.

"Zach was a bit down but he was already a winner when you consider where he started the season and just to qualify was a fantastic achievement.

"It was a tremendous experience for him and I'm sure he learnt a lot."
