MATCH ABANDONED

Wednesday July 04, 2007
BIRMINGHAM'S Premier League clash with Edinburgh at Perry Barr on Wednesday was abandoned after one heat.

Ulrich Ostergaard and Ben Powell took a 5-1 from the only race which was possible, before a break was called due to concerns over visibility with rain falling.

The track had held up well to a pre-meeting downpour, but the top surface then took on too much water during the next band of rain, and after an inspection and consulation with the captains and team managers, referee Tony Steele called a halt to proceedings.
