COVENTRY 40 BRUMMIES 50

Monday May 28, 2012
UNDER-FIRE Sebastian Ulamek produced his best Brummies performance ever to inspire Birmingham to a brilliant 50-40 win at Coventry on Monday.

The Brummies were under pressure to perform after two defeats last week but they stepped up to the plate and produced a near-faultless display in front of the Sky Sports cameras, led by former Coventry rider Ulamek.

The experienced Pole dropped just one point, to Chris Harris in the final heat, and he was given tremendous back-up by his team-mates to secure all four league points. Josh Auty continued to impress with paid 11, Bjarne Pedersen banged in a vital paid ten while Daniel King and Ben Barker scored paid eight each.

The Brummies took the lead in heat seven and they were in control of the meeting from that point onwards. They were at ease with the Brandon track and were visibly faster than the home side, resulting in some exciting racing and eventually, a priceless away win.

Team manager Phil Morris was delighted with his team’s response after a tough week; “The boys pulled it out the bag tonight after a couple of disappointing results. The team spirit is brilliant in the camp, everybody works for each other and that has seen us through tonight. It’s onwards and upwards now.”
