NEWCASTLE 60 BRUMMIES 35

Monday September 06, 2010
BIRMINGHAM went down to a 60-35 defeat at Newcastle on Monday.

The BRC Roofing Brummies were outclassed by a solid all-round team performance from the Diamonds who are now favourites to finish second heading into the play-offs.

Aaron Summers was the top Birmingham rider with 11+1 but he didn't get enough backing from his colleagues.

Newcastle won all 10 of the opening races to lead 39-21 and there was no way back in the latter stages of the meeting.

Birmingham continue their Premier League campaign with a trip to King's Lynn on Wednesday.

NEWCASTLE 60: Mark Lemon 15, Kenni Larsen 14+1, Rene Bach 14+1, Dakota North 8+2, Derek Sneddon 6+1, Adam McKinna 3, Jason King R/R.

BIRMINGHAM 35: Aaron Summers 11+1, Jason Lyons 9, Richard Sweetman 6, Steve Johnston 4, Juston Sedgmen 2+1, Klaus Jakobsen 2, Kyle Newman 1+1
